These photos were mostly taken in Les Gets,
France, in february 2006 using a digital SLR (single lens reflex) Canon
EOS 350D (also known as the Canon Digital Rebel XT) with a circular polar
filter from Kaiser. Click on the images for a larger image.
Note
that the focal lengths with each photo are related to 35mm photography.
The Canon EOS 350D for example has a crop factor of 1.6, meaning its sensor
is 1.6 as small as a full size 35mm sensor. This means that if you have
a lens with a focal length of 300 mm, the effective focal length on a
1.6x sensor is actually 300 x 1.6 = 480 mm. The effect is more zoom, so
with a relatively cheap zoom lens you can actually zoom in more than you
could with a full size sensor camera.
